BOOK A HARDWARE DROP-OFF

A Planet-First Hardware Strategy

According to UN research, the environmental impact of manufacturing new technology far exceeds the power consumed over its entire operational lifetime. Irresponsible IT disposal damages ecosystems and leaks hazardous heavy metals into our soil.

Tranquil IT operates a strict, certified zero-landfill recycling pipeline. Our primary goal is always Repurposing : components are sanitized, refurbished, and donated to local charities, community initiatives, and schools. Where hardware is obsolete or unviable, we mechanically reclaim raw metals in partnership with Stort Mill Recycling in Harlow.

Refurbish, Repurpose & Donate

Whenever viable, we donate operational workstations, screens, and laptops to local community non-profit projects and educational organizations to maximize hardware lifespan.

Common Recycling & Data Inquiries

We ensure your IT asset retirement remains completely secure, compliant, and documented.

How is data secure during hardware recycling?

Every storage drive (HDD or SSD) entering our facility undergoes a strict sanitization protocol. We utilize industry-standard software wiping algorithms or execute complete mechanical media crushing. A signed Certificate of Destruction is compiled and delivered for your compliance records.

What items are accepted at the Stansted drop-off site?

We accept desktops, laptops, servers, network switches, routers, firewalls, telephones, structured cabling, UPS power backup batteries, memory chips, and power cords. We do not accept CRT screens, household appliances, or non-technical electrical waste.

Why is public drop-off not available without an appointment?

Because we process active data assets, our Stansted facility operates high-level physical security protocols. Scheduling your drop-off via Cal.com ensures an engineer is assigned to receive your hardware, inventory the storage items, and initiate the data destruction chain immediately.
